FAQ
Q: Does the self-heating battery have a low-temperature cutoff?
All our self-heating batteries are equipped with low temperature cut off protection, heating and low temperature protection are coexisting.
1. for the safety of battery charging considerations, the battery cell is not allowed to be charged at 0 degrees below, at this time there is a need for low temperature cut-off protection to ensure the safety of battery charging.
2.When the battery is in the range of -20 degrees to 0 degrees after the cell low-temperature charging cut-off protection, the battery needs to be charged, then the heating function can help you to realize the demand of charging in low temperature.
Q: Will the self heat battery continue to charge from 32 degrees down to -4 when the heater comes on?
Our Self-Heating batteries are charged from -20 degrees to 50 degrees. When the battery temperature is below 5 degrees, the battery will first charge the heater when it is connected to the power supply. When the temperature reaches 10 degrees, it stops heating and starts charging the battery. So, when the temperature drops from 32 degrees to -4 degrees, the heated battery can continue to charge.
Q: Can a self-heating lithium battery be connected in series and parallel with a Low-temp battery?
We do not recommend series-parallel connection of different battery types. This is because the BMS board inside the batteries are not consistent, and the cells are not consistent. Connecting in series and parallel as a system may affect battery performance and life.
Q: Which charger is recommended for 12V100Ah self-heating lithium battery?
A charger with the below conditions can be used to charge a 12V 100Ah self-heating lithium battery:
1. Support lithium/LiFePO4 mode
2. Charging voltage: 14.4±0.2V
3. Charging current <100A(BMS current of the battery)
we usually recommend 0.2C charging current, that is 20A charging current and it will cost around 5 hours to fully charge it.
We recommend that you purchase a 14.6v 20A charger from Redodo.
Q: What’s the difference between self-heating and Low-temp?
Both batteries are designed for users in low-temperature areas. They both have a low-temperature cut-off function. However, the heated model has a built-in heating plate and can supply power to the heating plate first while charging. Once the battery temperature increases, it will be able to charge and discharge normally. But the low-temperature model battery will automatically cut off charging when the temperature is below 0℃.
Q: Can self heating lithium battery be stacked?
Yes, self-heating lithium batteries can be stacked together to form an energy storage system with an increased capacity or voltage, but it's essential to ensure they are from the same brand, have the same BMS, type and capacity, and purchased in near time (within one month).
