FAQ
Q: What is a Group 24 Battery?
A Group 24 battery refers to a specific size category defined by the Battery Council International (BCI), commonly used in RVs, boats, and other vehicles. These batteries are designed to meet certain physical dimensions for compatibility across various applications.
The Redodo 12V 100Ah Group 24 battery is built to meet the exact size requirements of a Group 24 battery, ensuring perfect compatibility as an RV battery. With dimensions of L10.24 x W6.61 x H8.30 inches, this deep cycle battery has been downsized to seamlessly fit the BCI Group 24 standard. It is 25% smaller than the Redodo 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 Battery Group 31, making it an ideal fit for a wide range of motorhome battery cases, including Group 24, 27, and 31 battery boxes.
Q: Can I use a 12V 100Ah Group 24 as a starter battery?
We do not recommend using Redodo Group 24 batteries as starter batteries. Starter devices generate a high current during startup, which can cause the Battery Management System (BMS) to cut off power for protection. Over time, repeated exposure to high startup currents may damage the BMS, leading to degradation or even failure of the battery system.
Q: What's the difference between your 12V 100Ah Mini and 12V 100Ah Group 24 Battery? Is it just about the size?
The difference between the 12V 100Ah Mini and the 12V 100Ah Group 24 batteries is not just about size.
- 12V 100Ah Group 24 Battery: This battery is made of prismatic cells and follows the Group 24 size standard.
- 12V 100Ah Mini Battery: This battery is made of pouch cells, which are smaller and lighter compared to traditional LiFePO4 batteries.
Q: I am looking to replace my Group 24 DC lead-acid batteries. What size Redodo battery would be suitable?
Our 12V 100Ah Group 24 battery is specifically designed to be a perfect replacement for Group 24 lead-acid batteries. It's ideal for caravanners and others who have previously used lead-acid batteries in their applications.
Q: Does the Group 24 battery's performance match that of the Group 31 LiFePO4 (Redodo 12V 100Ah Basic)?
Yes, the 12V 100Ah Group 24 battery offers the same performance as the 12V 100Ah Group 31 battery. Both have 1280Wh of energy capacity and support up to 1280W of load power with a 100A BMS. The primary difference between the two is size, not performance.
Q: Can Redodo Group 24 battery be connected in series and parallel with a 12V 100Ah Basic battery?
We do not recommend connecting the Group 24 and 12V 100Ah Basic batteries in series or parallel. The internal cells and structures are different, which can lead to poor system performance and shorten the overall battery life when connected together.
