Redodo 12V 100Ah---Classic Version, Perfect to Replace AGM Group 31
The Redodo 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 battery has been the flagship model in this series, surpassing sales of 7,000 units annually. Like the other batteries in the Redodo 12V 100Ah line, it provides 1280Wh of energy storage. This enables configurations such as 4S4P (4 batteries in series and 4 in parallel) to create a 48V 400Ah battery bank with 20.48kWh capacity and 20.48kW maximum load power output. These characteristics make it well-suited for recreational vehicles, solar energy storage, home backup power systems, and off-grid applications that require high energy density.
Equivalent in size to Group 31 lead-acid batteries, the 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 version weighs only 25 lbs and includes a sturdy handle for easy transport. A built-in 100A BMS protects the battery from overcharging, over-discharging, over-current faults, short circuits, and excessive temperature rise or fall.
Note: This battery doesn’t have low-temperature charging protection.

Redodo 12V 100Ah Mini--- Small in Size, Max in Power
Compared to the typical 12V 100Ah lithium battery, the Redodo 12V 100Ah Mini offers significantly smaller dimensions at 35% less size and 10% lighter weight at only 19 lbs, while maintaining the same 100Ah capacity.
The Mini benefits from an optimized internal design that incorporates a compact yet rugged structural framework. This robust construction has undergone rigorous testing and verification to ensure an unparalleled level of safety. Installation can be done in any orientation without concern for damage from vibration or impacts during transport.
Unlike other batteries using prismatic LiFePO4 cells, the Mini utilizes flexible pouch-style LiFePO4 cells. Pouch cells are lighter and thinner, making them suited for portable applications where space and weight are constrained factors. They also tend to maintain voltage and discharge rates better at cooler temperatures.

Redodo 12V 100Ah Self-Heating LiFePO4 Battery
The Redodo 12V 100Ah self-heating battery activates an automatic warming function through its battery management system (BMS) when connected to a charger in temperatures from -4°F to 41°F (-20°C to 5°C). Integrated heating pads on two sides of the battery provide sufficient heat to raise its internal temperature.
Typically, it takes about 90 minutes to increase the temperature from -10°C to 10°C (14°F to 50°F). From -20°C, it takes approximately 150 minutes to reach 10°C. Heating stops when 50°F (10°C) is achieved and the battery can charge normally.
This self-heating capability allows the Redodo battery to charge in cold environments down to -4°F (-20°C) where standard lithium iron phosphate batteries struggle. It frees users from worries over low temperature charging issues when using the battery off-grid in RVs, cabins, marine applications or other settings prone to freezing.
The 100Ah battery itself leverages robust prismatic LiFePO4 cells and a 100A BMS that delivers full rated performance. It powers devices reliably with protections against over-temperatures, over-charging, over-discharging and other harmful conditions. With automatic heating combined with LiFePO4’s inherent safety and longevity, the Redodo 12V 100Ah battery brings new convenience and capabilities for off-grid and automotive projects facing winter weather.

3.Battery Cell
Distinguished from alternative batteries, the mini utilizes pouch LiFePO4 battery cells, as opposed to prismatic LiFePO4 battery cells used by others.
Pouch cells possess flexibility and lightweight properties, rendering them highly suitable for portable uses like mobile devices and power banks. They are commonly employed when spatial constraints and weight considerations are essential factors for the particular application. Pouch cells also exhibit a commendable ability to sustain voltage levels and discharge rates even in colder temperatures.
This distinction contributes significantly to the mini's capacity to achieve a lighter and more compact design.

FAQS about Redodo 12.8V 100Ah Series LiFePO4 Battery
1. Can the classic 12V 100Ah and mini batteries be connected in series or parallel?
No, combining these two battery models can negatively impact their lifespan because of differences in battery cells and internal design.
2.Can these batteries be used as starting batteries in golf carts?
No, the Redodo batteries are deep-cycle batteries engineered for consistent power delivery over time. Starting batteries provide short bursts of high power output, so are not well-suited for repeated deep discharge cycling.
3. Is it okay to charge these lithium iron phosphate batteries with a lead-acid battery charger?
Charging with a lead-acid battery charger is not recommended. Lead-acid charging profiles differ from lithium requirements and can degrade performance and lifespan over time. Please see our blog for more details on Can I Charge LiFePO4 Lithium Battery with a Lead-Acid Battery Charger?
4. What are the Differences Among Low Temp and Self-Heating?
These two series primarily address the charging issues of LiFePO4 lithium batteries in cold weather. The main difference between the Low-Temperature series and the Self-Heating series lies in the presence of an automatic Battery Management System (BMS) heating module. The Self-Heating series allows the battery to self-warm without any action required from the user while charging.
However, the Low-Temperature Protection series like Redodo 12V 100Ah Low Temp will automatically cut-off the charging when the temperature is below 0℃ (32℉), and it requires you to take some measures, such as placing the battery in a warm indoor environment, to warm it up to 5℃ (41℉) and restore charging capability.
